How online nutrition consultation works at NutriJalan
If you have never done an online consultation, the process can feel unclear. Here is the whole path, from the moment you fill in the form to the point where follow-up becomes routine.
What the process actually looks like
No surprises, no vague promises. Just the steps we follow and what we need from you at each one. Nothing here is a formality — the details you send at the start shape what happens next.
Registration
A short formulir konsultasi: contact details, your main nutrition goal, and how you usually eat during the week.
Your session
A structured conversation with a registered dietitian, in chat, voice call, or video — whichever suits your week.
Plan and follow-up
A written meal plan built around what your household already eats, then adjustments as you report back.
Step one: the registration form
Everything starts with the formulir konsultasi. You give us your contact details, your main nutrition goal, and a short description of your daily eating patterns. This is not a formality.
The dietitian who reads it uses those details to prepare. If you mention that you eat out every weekday, that shapes the conversation before it begins — what to ask, which swaps are realistic, and where a plan usually slips.
What the form asks for
- Contact details so we can reach you about scheduling
- Your main nutrition goal, in your own words
- A short picture of your daily eating patterns
- Who you are planning for — yourself, a partner, or the whole household
Step two: matching you with a dietitian
Once we have your form, we match you with a registered dietitian suited to your goal and life stage. A family nutrition request goes to someone who works with households. A request focused on an older relative goes to a dietitian familiar with that stage. Matching takes a little time, but it makes the first session more relevant.
Step three: scheduling your session
We propose a session time and a format: chat, voice call, or video. You pick what works for you, and you can change your mind later if your situation shifts. Remote sessions mean you do not need to travel across Jakarta. You just need a quiet few minutes and, ideally, a note of what you have been eating.
The session and the plan
Two conversations and one document. The order matters because each step feeds the next.
The consultation itself
A structured conversation, not a lecture
The dietitian leads a structured conversation. They will ask about your current pola makan, your meal times, who cooks, and what you are aiming for. You will cover what a realistic plan looks like for your week. Come with questions; that is what the session is for.
Your written plan
Something you can actually follow
After the session, your dietitian puts together a meal plan you can actually follow. That means specific foods, sensible portions, and a weekly structure rather than vague advice. It is built around what your household already eats, adjusted for your goals. You will also get guidance on what to note between sessions so follow-up has something to work with.
Step six: monitoring and evaluation
The plan does not end when the document arrives. You report back on how it is going, and the dietitian evaluates what needs adjusting. Maybe portions were off, or a meal did not fit your schedule. Follow-up turns a first draft into something that holds up — often, this is where the most useful changes happen.
How long it takes
The registration and matching steps usually move faster than people expect. The consultation itself is one focused session, and follow-up continues from there depending on your needs.
We do not drag the process out, and we do not rush past the parts that need thought. Timelines are set with your situation in mind, not a fixed clock.
What to prepare
- A rough log of what you ate for a few days, drinks included
- Your usual meal times and who does the cooking
- One or two goals written in everyday words
- Any measurements you already track, kept handy — a food diary does not need to be perfect to start
The formats explained
Chat
Suits people who prefer to type and review what was said later. Good if you want the conversation in writing.
Voice call
Works when you would rather explain a cooking habit out loud, hands free, without being on camera.
Video
Adds a face-to-face feel for those who want it. Same guidance as the other formats — you choose, and you can switch formats between sessions.
The nutrition guidance is the same whichever format you pick.
Questions before you start
A few things visitors ask most often about the online consultation process.
Read the nutrition FAQDo I need to prepare a food diary before the session?
No. A rough note of what you ate over a few days, drinks included, is enough to start. Your dietitian will ask questions during the session to fill in the gaps — you do not need a perfect record.
Can I switch between chat, voice, and video between sessions?
Yes. You choose the format when you schedule, and you can change it later if your week changes. The nutrition guidance is the same whichever format you pick — the only difference is how the conversation happens.
How is the meal plan built around what my family already eats?
Your dietitian starts from the meals your household already cooks and adjusts portions, swaps, and weekly structure from there. The plan aims to fit your kitchen and your cooking routine, not replace it.
When should I follow up after receiving the plan?
Follow up once you have eaten through a full week of the plan. That gives the dietitian enough real detail to evaluate portions and timing, and to adjust what did not work before it becomes a habit.
